Texas SMS Changes
Hey Texas Dapper Yankees,
We wanted to let you know about an important change that will affect how we keep in touch. Starting September 1, 2025, a new amendment to the Texas Business and Commerce Code goes into effect. This law, which previously applied only to voice calls, now also covers marketing text messages (SMS). Under the new rules, businesses sending marketing texts to Texas residents—or businesses located in Texas that send marketing texts—may need to register with the Texas Secretary of State.
To make sure we’re fully compliant, Dapper Yankee will no longer be able to send SMS (text) marketing messages to our Texas customers after September 1, 2025.
