Cold Processed Soap made with Lye
All of our soaps are made with lye (Sodium Hydroxide). Although lye is a man-made chemical, it is one that's necessary to make cold processed soaps.
However, by the end of the saponification process all of the lye is completely out of the final product; thus, leaving us with a natural soap bar.
If you find a soap company that markets a lye-free soap, they are "lye-ing" to you (sorry we couldn't resist the dad joke). Using lye is just part of the soap making process, but again, there is no lye in the final product.
