Natural Deodorant Detox Guide

If you're ready to break free of antiperspirants and deodorants containing aluminum, this detox guide is a great point of reference for detoxifying your body to allow it to adjust to natural deodorant.

If you are new to natural deodorants, please read this guide carefully to get the most out of your Dapper Yankee natural deodorant.

Detoxification Process

If you’ve been a regular user of antiperspirants, your pits contain toxins that need to be flushed from your body before the natural deodorant will work effectively.

Please stop using your old antiperspirant and use Dapper Yankee Natural Deodorant daily. This is the first step in your detoxification journey.

The aluminum in antiperspirants cause your sweat glands to close, which is what prevents you from sweating.  You need to give your body some time to allow the glands to reopen and flush out the toxins. This process will not happen overnight but does happen gradually over time. It may take approximately 4-6 weeks to detoxify your body.

What You Can Expect

Week 1: As the detoxification process begins, you may not see a notable change in your body odor or how much you’re sweating.

Week 2:  You may notice an increase in sweat. This is normal and your body’s natural way of flushing out the toxins. You might also notice that you stink a bit more than usual.  Don’t let this discourage you, as it’s part of the detoxification process. If you notice an increase in body odor, just reapply the natural deodorant as needed.

Week 3:  As your body continues to detox; you’ll notice a decrease in body odor, so you won’t need to re-apply the deodorant as often.

Week 4:  This week is when you’ll notice a significant decrease in your body odor, as your body is now adjusting to the natural deodorant.

Week 5 and Beyond:  Everyone’s body is different, so your detox process might be longer or shorter than what’s outlined here. Depending on your body’s chemistry, you may need to reapply the natural deodorant throughout the day.

Odor and Sweating

Please keep in mind that Dapper Yankee Natural Deodorant is not an antiperspirant, and it will not prevent you from sweating. It does, however, deodorize your body by attacking and eliminating the odor-causing bacteria.

Since this is natural deodorant, you can apply it anywhere on your body to help keep odor away. However, it won’t help with bad breath, so please don’t attempt to lick, or eat it. I know it might seem funny that I need to note this, but there’s always that one curious guy…you know who you are.

Deodorant Consistency

Many natural deodorants require a warming period before applying; however, Dapper Yankee Natural Deodorant does not. When applied it will go on slightly creamier than most deodorants and you may notice a white residue. Not to worry, the residue won’t last long as the deodorant will quickly be absorbed in your skin. If you get the deodorant on your clothing it can be easily removed with a damp cloth. And rest assured, it won't leave any stains.
